چکیده

Lithium titanate (Li2TiO3) is candidate tritium breeder of the fusion blanket systems. The small pebbles Li2TiO3 are packed in box. coolant tubes made RAFM steel F82H (Fe-8Cr-2W-0.1C) installed box and their oscillation possibly induced by flow. fretting corrosion then caused reciprocating slip on tube wall. purpose present study to investigate fundamental behaviors between pebble plate. or Al2O3 was placed plate specimen point contact, oscillated horizontally lineally at frequency 50 Hz amplitude 120 µm. constant load 4.9 N applied specimen. tests were conducted for 10 300 minutes an air atmosphere a room temperature. significantly abraded tests. surface damaged due scratch with broken particles pebble. promoted test pebble, since formation destruction oxide layer repeated cycle.

Progress in Flibe Corrosion Study toward Material Research Loop and Advanced Liquid Breeder Blanket

High purity Flibe was prepared for corrosion study. Fundamental corrosion experiments in static condition were performed on the structural material for Flibe blanket and Material Research Loop, which is non-isothermal forced convection loop simulating the blanket condition. Corrosion rate for the structural materials in static condition was estimated as small as 0.83-5.4 μm/yr in the high purit...

Engineering Scaling Requirements for Solid Breeder Blanket Testing

An engineering scaling process is applied to the solid breeder ITER TBM designs in accordance with the testing objectives of validating the design tools and the database, and evaluating blanket performance under prototypical operating conditions. The goal of scaling is to ensure that changes in structural response and performance caused by changes in size and operating conditions do not reduce ...

Fretting Corrosion in Electric Contacts

Fretting corrosion is a form of accelerated atmospheric oxidation which occurs at the interface of contacting materials undergoing slight, cyclic relative motion. In electric contacts involving non-noble metals, fretting action can cause rapid increases in contact resistance, proceeding to virtual open circuits in a matter of minutes in the worst cases. Experimental results of resistance increa...

Neutronics Analysis of Graphite-moderated Solid Breeder Blanket Designs for Intor

An In-depth analysis of the INT05 tritium-production—blanket design Is presented. A ternary system of solid silicate breeder, lead neutron multiplier, and graphite moderator is explored primarily from safety and blanket tritium-inventory considerations. Lithiumsilicate (Li2Si03) bleeder systems are studied along 2 with water (H2P/D2O) and Type 316 stainless steel as coolant and structural mater...
